NAVIGATING THE ART & SCIENCE OF BEING HUMAN

“The whole point of being alive is to evolve into the complete person you were intended to be.
Understand that the right to choose your own path is a sacred privilege. Use it. Dwell in possibility.”

– Oprah Winfrey

Through SDI’s programs, courses, workshops, classes and webinars, Shelley has advanced a mind-shifting movement about the way we, as human beings, can learn to dive deeper into understanding how to achieve a higher quality of daily life through the concepts of honor, dignity and regard.

Shelley Whizin

Certified in various techniques of coaching and training, Shelley has incorporated her intuitive skills in guiding, educating and mentoring individuals and groups, both personally and professionally as a Soul Diving™ Master Guide, Speaker, Life Coach, Death Midwife, and End of Life Trainer.

Shelley has always been, and continues to be, a life-long student and teacher of the human-spiritual dynamic, exploring what it means to be human through the soul’s perspective. She lives through the universal lens of being conscious of living and dying, imparting her learnings to inspire and empower others, helping people make their human journey a little easier.

Shelley has many talents and skills she enjoys, combining them all in daily life – writing, speaking, cooking, acting and creating. Most off all she’s a mother and grandmother of three beautiful grandchildren, and a person who cares about making the world a better place.

I believe we are spiritual beings having a human experience and not the other way around.  It is up to us, while we are alive, to evolve on a healing journey, finding ways to get back to feeling the most healing emotion we have, and that is love, no matter what circumstances arise.

Having experience as a certified death midwife and end of life trainer, I have learned that when we become conscious of dying, we truly become conscious of living, and begin to live our lives more fully, not only with a sense of urgency, but with that precious sense of infinite possibilities to actually live the life we love living as a sacred privilege!

As a human being I’m always passionate and curious about all that life has to offer.  I’m blessed to be the mother of a beautiful daughter, a wonderful son-in-law, and triply blessed as grandmother of 3 wonderful grandchildren.  I’m a sister, a friend, a niece, a cousin, a cook, a coach, a teacher, a caregiver and a hospice volunteer.  I’m also a grateful breast cancer survivor who knows the importance of deciding how to consciously live life to the fullest, no matter how long we have to live.

I am a person who lives by the values of honor, dignity and regard. And I love bringing love into everything I do.”

Shelley’s Mission

Shelley’s life’s passion is to gently and lovingly teach, support and guide individuals through the challenges of daily living, and the tender experiences around dying.  Her mission is to help individuals navigate through their fears, limited beliefs, overwhelm, and heartbreak, including all the emotions involved from losing oneself in a relationship, to losing a loved one, ultimately finding a sense of solace, well-being and peace within.  She does this with a lighthearted touch, holding the space with honor, dignity and regard, a loving heart and a joyful approach.

Achievements & Experiences

Curious about all things human and spiritual, Shelley began her journey of discovery, reading Siddartha, by Herman Hesse, and other spiritually oriented books at the tender age of fifteen, catapulting her into studying the human-spiritual dynamic with a passionate full heart.

Being a student of all aspects of BEing Human, the spiritual, physical, mental and emotional, Shelley combined her knowledge and became a yoga teacher in her early twenties. In the early seventies, she introduced “spiritual concepts” into the corporate world, through advertising and merchandising campaigns she presented while working for a national franchise chain, making “healthy relationships” the key ingredient to successful business practices.

Shelley went on to co-create a marketing design company, where she pioneered a spiritual color-healing system into the 100-year-old bedding industry. Integrating unique spiritual concepts in her designs made the designs very successful and revolutionized the use of color in high-end stores, becoming center spread for Neiman Marcus catalog and others.

Always conscious of making the world a better place, the nonprofit world attracted Shelley and for over 18 years she served on various boards of directors, co-founding the Whizin Foundation, supporting Jewish family education, along with Jewish spiritual renewal synagogue programs. Her love of live musical theatre led her to cofound the Here’s To Life Foundation with Toni and Gene Bua. Reaching teens and others at-risk through art and entertainment, Shelley produced two original musical plays, bussing in thousands of troubled teens from half-way houses, residential treatment centers and other such organizations in order to uplift their spirit.
Her journey of initiation with Shaman in Peru, back in the eighties, catapulted her into the cosmic world of conscious dying. She continued her fascination by studying different cultural views of conscious living and dying, spending a brief time in India and furthering her studies in America, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Jewish Studies.

All of this preparation gave her the ability to help navigate her friend’s dying journey in 2007. It was through this life-changing, profound experience that she knew death didn’t have to be an awful experience (even though it’s sad). By what she learned, having a sacred dying experience is not only possible, it is actually a healing experience, filled with love, not only for the person who is dying, but also for the family left behind.

Receiving various certifications in Life Coaching techniques, Shelley went on to become a Certified National End of Life Trainer for The Twilight Brigade, along with attaining various certifications as a Life Coach, Trainer, and a Certified Death Midwife.

Shelley’s purpose is to inspire and guide people through all of life’s transitions, empowering individuals to explore, discover, and consciously navigate their human experience, celebrating the fulfillment of the soul in a loving, lighthearted way.

Shelley is a life-long learner. Her passion for learning is equal to her passion for sharing her experiences with others, imparting the valuable lessons that have changed, and continue to change her own life. She delights in empowering others to cut the gap time between what they want and where they are.

By taking herself on journeys into various Native American, Eastern and Western cultures, she has accumulated a treasure chest of tools, looking through a multitude of different perspectives and coaching methodologies, and has created her own system, teaching people how to become competent and confident Soul Divers, able to hold the space for people to have extraordinary human experiences… all rooted in love and healing.
